Nabanita made her acting debut in the television series Agomoni as a supporting role. Her brilliance was instantly apparent in the drama series Aponjon on Colours Bangla, where she played Shiuli from 2015 to 2017. But what really shot her to fame was her part as Aishwarya, sometimes known as Mimi, in the romance drama series Ei Chheleta Bhelbheleta. In this Saibal Banerjee-directed series, she costarred with Prapti Chatterjee and Somraj Maity.
Her career progressed with supporting parts in the serials Manasa (Subrata Roy) and Punyi Pukur (Koushik Roy), in which she played Saraswati and Aratrika, respectively.
2018 saw Nabanita take on the starring role of Lokkhipriya in the drama series Mahaprabhu Shri Chaitanya on Colours Bangla. She made a lasting impression as Jyoti, a middle-class girl falling in love with the affluent Sagar, in the romance drama series Sagar Jyoti, which aired in 2021.
